Paulo de Oliveira, S.A. is located in Covilhã, a beautifull city in the centre of Portugal situated near the Spanish border.

Due to the abundance and quality of the water, the existence of many sheep farmers and the tradition of working wool, it was here that in the year 1573 the Portuguese King, D. Sebastião founded the first woollen mill in Portugal.

This activity underwent great increment after the Portuguese maritime discoveries and the establishment of the trading stations in Africa. Still today it is here that the major oart of the wool mills in Portugal situated.
